Katy Perry: 2011 MTV Video Music Awards

Katy Perry took whimsical to a whole new level this year at the 28th Annual MTV VMAs which aired LIVE Sunday, August 28th from Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The pop star showed up looking like a candy-land cartoon. With pink hair, Asian inspired umbrella and a mini dress in a sickly teal green,those little napkin looking flaps are not exactly flattering. It also doesn’t help that Russell Brand is wearing only blacks and grays, making Katy’s colors even harder on the eyes. It’s understandable that Katy Perry has an album and a theme to promote and yes, she does have to compete with Lady Gaga, but she is such a pretty girl. One wishes that she would go classy rather than campy for these events.

Katy is up for ‘Best Pop Video’, ‘Best Female Video’, ‘Best Collaboration’, ‘Best Video With A Message’ and ‘Best Video Of The Year’.
